Get Lost In Venice

From Verona, to Lake Garda and now on to the stunning city of Venice – the last instalment of my recent Italian getaway.

Here’s a round up and photo diary of my 24-hour trip (it’s quite honest in places – blogs and reviews are meant to be honest and unbiased!)…

Fair Verona

When most of us hear ‘Verona’, I’m fairly convinced we all want to burst in to a speech of “Two households, both alike in dignity, in fair Verona where we lay our scene…” reminiscing the story of Romeo & Juliet and William Shakespeare’s infamous script of the tragedy.

A few weeks ago me and my ‘Romeo’ visited Verona, as part of a mini break to Italy (including Lake Garda and Venice – future blog posts to follow) and I had to share my experience of this beautiful town in northern Italy…

A One World View

I want to share with you my recent trip to (and up!) the new, and I must say stunning, One World Trade Center in New York.

A statement landmark – the (48,000 tons of) steel oozes strength and the 13,000 exterior glass panels glistens of hopes and dreams. Relaxing time out… in a Treehouse!

Being a fan of holidays far and wide, I often forget how fortunate we are to have so many beautiful towns and places on our doorstep, and in my instance (for the benefit of any overseas readers!) I’m talking about the UK.

With beautiful coastlines, countryside, forest and cities galore, I’m sure we all have our favourite British hotspots that we love to go back to.

But the hotel and spa resort is something else, so much so I’ve been there three times now over the last few years. Every visit has been different, but so good. It’s definitely on my list of “go tos” for when I need some time out. Last month I went for a 2-night autumnal relaxing break, and it was heavenly…

When in Rome…

I’ve just got back from a beautiful wedding in Rome (a follow-up Roman wedding-related blog post to follow…). I’ve been to Rome before, and therefore have already explored the key tourist attractions and the (lengthy, but amazing) tours. This time round, it was fabulous to just enjoy a few chilled days walking around in the glorious Italian sunshine, seeing the sights again (from the outside), consume plenty of local wine, slightly dent the credit card in Prada and Michael Kors on Via Condotti and eat plenty of amazing food.

I am turning in to a ball of mozzarella, wrapped in parma ham and topped with burrata because I’ve eaten so much of it.

Keeping things simple and visual, this blog post is pretty much text-free (partly due to immense tiredness and brain-fail from a very delayed and late flight home last night). Here’s a small selection of my photos from my strolls around the stunning Eternal City…
