Hello, it’s me.

I started writing this post after having a much needed summer off from a difficult first few months of 2018. But as I wrote the word ‘summer’ I realised it’s mid November, and then when I came back to edit I realised the Christmas lights are up in my town, the heating is on and I’ve taken my almost 2 year old to visit Father Christmas for the first time. It’s now December.

Where has the time gone, so many of us ask ourselves and on a regular basis?

It’s no secret, as I wish for an open forum in life, to enable transparency, trust, positivity and more, but late 2017-spring 2018 came with it’s challenges and after juggling too many balls I wanted and needed to focus my energy on myself and my purposes. As we all do from time to time, right?

However, I can see rainbow for 2019…

A crafty gift from your little ones to your loved ones

For Mother’s Day weekend just gone I *thought* it would be a good idea to branch my fairly new ‘mummy self’ out in to the world of arts and craft to make Henry’s Grandma (my Mum) and Nana (my Mother in Law) a personalised gift.

On a recent shopping trip to Waitrose, in the wine section I spotted plain wooden (single) wine boxes and ‘ding’ – an invincible light bulb shone above my head!

The 3 month postpartum reality check

Baby Henry is now 12 weeks old, yet my labour seems like a lifetime ago and I can’t imagine life without my little lad in it.

He’s smiling and giggling, chatting away (albeit in baby language) and desperate to sit up and know what’s going on. He’s been sleeping 10-12 hours a night since 8/9 weeks old (I thought it was a phase at first!) and we are generally having a positive time of it so far.

We play together, go on walks together (the Baby Bjorn carrier is brilliant – and it helps you to work up a sweat carrying that baby’s weight on you!), go shopping together, have sofa snuggles together, go to groups such as Baby Sensory and Caterpillar Music, we go swimming, see our mummy and baby friends, see family together – Henry has become my little buddy and we have a lovely time…

Enjoying some fresh air together – anyone else LOVE their Baby Bjorn carrier!?

This Mummy-to-Bee’s Baby Shower

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind and I’m so behind on my blogging! But I simply HAD to prioritise this post…all about my wonderful baby shower!

I’m now 36 weeks + 3 days pregnant (every day counts in pregnancy!!) and a couple of weeks ago my besties organised the most perfect shower for me.

Not only was it a surprise, but no stone was left unturned – the attention to detail was amazing! Due to my surname (Bevington), friends soon referred to my growing bubba as Baby B, then Baby Bee (insert the bumble bee emoji) in early pregnancy and it’s stuck, I love it!

My little Muddy-on-Sea!

Photo 06-04-2015 11 30 43A South-East-Essex born’s Bank Holiday weekend wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Old Leigh (no matter the weather!).

I love my hometown of Leigh-on-Sea – renowned for its cockle sheds, pubs with most of the seating outside, cobbled streets, a muddy river Thames, fishing boats, a mix of restaurants, bars and tea shops, boutique shops and the smell of fresh seaside air!

I currently live on the Essex/East London border, which does make daily commuting to London quicker, but I am often back in the Southend-on-Sea vicinity (seeing as that’s where most of my friends and family reside).

There’s something so wonderful about a little day trip to my seaside hometown at this time of year – and for the rest of the spring and summer months….
