Get Lost In Venice

From Verona, to Lake Garda and now on to the stunning city of Venice – the last instalment of my recent Italian getaway.

Here’s a round up and photo diary of my 24-hour trip (it’s quite honest in places – blogs and reviews are meant to be honest and unbiased!)…

Fair Verona

When most of us hear ‘Verona’, I’m fairly convinced we all want to burst in to a speech of “Two households, both alike in dignity, in fair Verona where we lay our scene…” reminiscing the story of Romeo & Juliet and William Shakespeare’s infamous script of the tragedy.

A few weeks ago me and my ‘Romeo’ visited Verona, as part of a mini break to Italy (including Lake Garda and Venice – future blog posts to follow) and I had to share my experience of this beautiful town in northern Italy…

A One World View

I want to share with you my recent trip to (and up!) the new, and I must say stunning, One World Trade Center in New York.

A statement landmark – the (48,000 tons of) steel oozes strength and the 13,000 exterior glass panels glistens of hopes and dreams. One World Trade Center stands proud, sticking its middle finger up at that world who destroyed what previously belonged, and the many lives that were so tragically lost…

Relaxing time out… in a Treehouse!

Being a fan of holidays far and wide, I often forget how fortunate we are to have so many beautiful towns and places on our doorstep, and in my instance (for the benefit of any overseas readers!) I’m talking about the UK.

With beautiful coastlines, countryside, forest and cities galore, I’m sure we all have our favourite British hotspots that we love to go back to.

For me one of those places is the glorious resort Chewton Glen. But the hotel and spa resort is something else, so much so I’ve been there three times now over the last few years. Every visit has been different, but so good. It’s definitely on my list of “go tos” for when I need some time out. Last month I went for a 2-night autumnal relaxing break, and it was heavenly…

A beautiful Italian wedding in Rome

WARNING: This post contains a lot of food and flowers (two of my favourite things – FYI)…

Last weekend I attended a friend’s wedding in Rome. I’ve been to Rome before, but I was so excited to experience my first wedding abroad, see close friends say “I Do” and go back to the gorgeous Eternal City. Little did I know, or even wonder beforehand, just how breath-taking and beautiful the wedding day was going to be. It was full of love and emotion (I was emotional, often tearful, for about 75% of the day), with stunning service and reception locations, and AMPLE Italian food and wine…perfect!

I took a fair amount of photos from the day and have got permission from the bride to share a few here on my blog (certainly inspirational for any bride-to-be or event planner out there)…
