This Mummy-to-Bee’s Baby Shower

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind and I’m so behind on my blogging! But I simply HAD to prioritise this post…all about my wonderful baby shower!

I’m now 36 weeks + 3 days pregnant (every day counts in pregnancy!!) and a couple of weeks ago my besties organised the most perfect shower for me.

Not only was it a surprise, but no stone was left unturned – the attention to detail was amazing! Due to my surname (Bevington), friends soon referred to my growing bubba as Baby B, then Baby Bee (insert the bumble bee emoji) in early pregnancy and it’s stuck, I love it!

Here I am at my surprise baby shower at 34 weeks pregnant… (dress from New Look maternity)

We went to the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend-on-Sea, Essex (my home routes) for the yummiest Afternoon Tea… Fear not this bottle of Prosecco you see was NOT consumed by me! My husband (aka Dadda-to-Bee!) bought bottles of Prosecco for the whole party to enjoy… #lovehim

Spot all the Bumble Bee themed details! Baby prediction cards, cupcakes, photo props, badge, napkins and place name cards! #overwhelmed

We played a fun game where we were given pieces of paper featuring celebrity baby faces and we had to guess who they all were. All of the baby faces featured were famous folk I love – from Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley to Pharrell Williams and Beyonce Knowles!

My beautiful Mum (pictured with me below) did a fun quiz all about me! Questions included “What was Camilla’s due date?”, “How much did Camilla weigh at birth?” and “What was Camilla’s first word?”  FYI, the answer to the last question was “ball”…

One thing I find hard to digest and over whelming to comprehend, is when your closest friends and family make the effort to be there for YOU – all in one room – being your wedding, hen party, a landmark birthday or any special occasion such as one’s baby shower. When it’s “all about you” it feels unsettling and emotional in the most blessed and thankful way. I had guests that had travelled from near and far to be there and I couldn’t love the people who attended any more (soppy thank you to all).

I really am so lucky and blessed to have these beautiful people in my life…

The end of the perfect afternoon was complete with this glorious sunset…

SPOILT! Super kind gifts from guests, baby Bee is feeling very loved and Mummy & Dadda-to-bee are very grateful…

Bee themed mementos from my fabulous day…

It was fun reading everyone’s predictions. About 90% of people are guessing it’s a boy… Watch this space!

Even personalised stickers appeared on the individual cupcake boxes. So much love for the level of detail throughout…

Okay, so when I said “surprise” baby shower, I knew I was having some kind of do (as I had been asked to save the date – but knew of no other details) so I had to have my hair done, right??

I’m feeling very loved and am giving a public display of affection to everyone who came and to those who made this a fabulous afternoon!

Not long to go, the countdown is on!
