A beautiful Italian wedding in Rome

WARNING: This post contains a lot of food and flowers (two of my favourite things – FYI)…

Last weekend I attended a friend’s wedding in Rome. I’ve been to Rome before, but I was so excited to experience my first wedding abroad, see close friends say “I Do” and go back to the gorgeous Eternal City. Little did I know, or even wonder beforehand, just how breath-taking and beautiful the wedding day was going to be. It was full of love and emotion (I was emotional, often tearful, for about 75% of the day), with stunning service and reception locations, and AMPLE Italian food and wine…perfect!

I took a fair amount of photos from the day and have got permission from the bride to share a few here on my blog (certainly inspirational for any bride-to-be or event planner out there)…

Being my first overseas wedding combined with a trip to Italy made it really exciting for me. All the touches throughout the day took my breath away. Of course the bride was stunning (the groom scrubbed up alright too!), the couple were genuinely and blissfully happy all day,  the Italian all-day feast was out of the world, and the church and then the villa for the reception were perfectly pretty locations. The flowers and decorative touches were gorgeous also. Ten out of ten for effort to the couple for hosting a brilliant day with amazing attention to detail – everything was thought of – even handing out fans at the church to keep cool during the service and bottles of water for the coach journey to the reception!

Here are a few snaps…

A wedding isn’t a wedding without a photo booth, right?!

IMG_2672

Only photo I took of the dessert buffet but the tables – yes tables plural – of sweet treats and cakes were out of this world. There was even a crept station!

As the night went on, my photo-taking became slack (too much Limoncello to blame?). But I’m sure you can envisage what a beautiful wedding it really was!
